The memorial commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two and is in commemoration of all the Australians who lost their lives in that conflict.

The memorial consists of two bronze plaques, one containing a map of the World.

In grateful thanks to all those who served in the Armed Forces and the Civilian Services in defence of the nation during World War II and in  commemoration of the 39366 Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice.
