Memorial GatesPrint Page
The gates commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two.
The Stansbury Memorial Committee met Thursday, October 26th, to further discuss plans for the erection of the Memorial Gates at the Stansbury Oval. A tender for the building of the concrete pillars (to be finished in cream concrete) was accepted, and the gates are to be purchased from Cyclone. The plaques on which the names of fallen men will be inscribed are to be supplied by Wunderlich. Subject to the recommendation of Recreation Committee, it is planned that the Memorial Gates will be erected on the corner of the Oval, providing a direct drive in from the road. Approximately £460 is in hand for the work.
