The gates were erected to commemorate those who served in World War Two.

Angaston, May 9. The memorial entrance at the Angaston park, a pair of pillars of pink marble, was opened by Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Angas today, the project is part of the Angaston memorial scheme. The chairman of the sub committee handling the scheme (Mr. G. W. Chinner) said £1,200 worth of work had been completed, largely by voluntary labor.
