The flagpole was presented to the school by the family of Ralph Gould who was killed in action during World War Two.

Source: MA,RSLV,SKPThis flag pole was presented to the Marysville State School by Mr and Mrs J. Gould and Family, Marysville
In memory of their son and brother, VX65256 Trooper Ralph G. Gould 9th Division Cavalry Commandos A.I.F. who was killed in action at Borneo on 30th June 1944.
And in memory of those pupils of the School who in time of war shielded with their bodies their homeland from hurt
