This plaque commemorates that during World War 2 this site was Headquarters of the Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Companies engaged in the defence of Melbourne.
Units were trained here for service in Darwin, New Guinea and Borneo.
The 2 / 2nd A / A Artillery Regiment left here for service in the Middle East, Java and New Guinea.
