The Kongorong Soldiers Memorial Institute commemorates those who served in World War One.

A public hall erected by the residents of Kongorong to the memory of the men from the district who served in the war was unveiled on Wednesday by the Mayor of Mount Gambler (Mr. C. L. Spehr). Mr. Spehr congratulated the residents on their enterprise and on the loyalty their sons had displayed in the war. With the words, "I declare this hall open to the honor and glory of the men who fought for Australia" he unlocked the door with a silver key.
