The Memorial Hall was erected to commemorate those from the district who lost their lives in World War One. The foundation stone for the hall was laid in November 1922. A marble tablet containing the names of the fallen was originally erected on the front of the building.

There was a great gathering at Yolla on Saturday last at the official opening of the Memorial Hall, and the occasion was one of which the district may justly be proud, for more reasons than one. The front of the hall has been well finished of with a gable porch which gives a pleasing appearance to the whole of the building. The porch consists of an iron roof ceiled with stamped metal, with two concrete pillars rough cast. The sides of the porch are open, and a cement wall is built across the front between the pillars, about four feet high. Into the front of this wall has been built the marble tablet inscribed with the names of those to whose memory the hall has been erected. The total cost of the building is approximately £800.
