The hall commemorates those who served in World War One.

The Tarcowie Hall was built in 1909 and, after World War One, it was decided to build two rooms and a porch on the front of the original Hall as a Soldiers Memorial. The Memorial rooms were dedicated by Colonel Parkes D.S.O on 1 December 1922, the Foundation Stone having been laid by Mr. Daniel Butterick, who had three of his six sons in the 1st A.I.F. One was killed in action in France and another died of illness as a consequence of the War.
