Walhalla War MemorialPrint Page
The monument commemorates those from the Shire of Walhalla who served in World War One.
On Wednesday, September 4, a public meeting was held, at which it was decided that steps be taken to recognise the services of the men from the Walhalla Shire who had enlisted to fight for the Empire. A collection taken at the meeting resulted in £7 being given and promised, and subscription lists are to be opened in Erica, Aberfeldy, Gould, Cooper's Creek and Walhalla. Mr H. H. Miller was appointed chairman to the movement, and Mr J. C Winterbottom secretary, both of whom will be pleased to receive subscriptions. The smallest donation will show sympathy with the movement.
Narracan Shire Advocate (Vic), 11 September 1918.
