The Memorial Hall was originally erected in memory of those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. A plaque at the base of the flagpole in front of the hall commemorates all those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The foundation tablet of the Leitchville Memorial Hall was offlcially laid in the presence of a large and representative assemblage by Councillor A. McDonald, president of the Shire of Cohuna. The hall, with furnishings, will cost about £2,300.
