The Avenue of Honour commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.
The monthly meeting of the Gnowangerup Road Board was held on 18th June, when the proposal of the Gnowangerup sub-branch of the Returned Soldiers' League to plant a memorial avenue along the hospital road was approved, the board agreeing to put up suitable protection for the trees.

Arbour Day was celebrated here, when kurrajong trees were planted near the school. Sugar gums are also being planted along various streets by the Gnowangerup Boad Board. Members of the Gnowangerup sub-branch of the RS&L., have commenced digging holes for the trees which will form a memorial avenue to the hospital.
