The gates commemorate former students of the school who served in World War One.
The Memorial Gate which is to be erected at the public school in memory of ex-pupils who fought in the Great War will be completed and erected by the end of August. The official unveiling has been set down for Wednesday, 15th September.

The gates consists of two free stone pillars, faced with marble tablets displaying lead lettered inscriptions. The gates are surmounted by a pediment featuring crossed rifles, laurel wreath, and rising sun.
