Plaque :
Memorial to those who served in the Great War 1914 - 1918
The white picket fence between this grandstand and the scoreboard of Adelaide University Oval serves as a memorial to the players of the Adelaide University Football and Cricket Clubs who served in the First World War. From the battles on these glorious sporting fields they went to the other fields of conflict to serve King and Country and play their role in the birth of the ANZAC legend.
These were courageous men who as students or graduates selflessly put their academic, professional and sporting dreams aside and enlisted volunttarily in defence of peace and freedom.
The names of those who served and those who fell are record on plaques affixed to the pickets.
Commemorated on the ANZAC 100 Year anniversary
Jointly unveiled on April 25th 2015 by
