The wooden honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One.

Recent research by the Rangers Military Museum members have revealed that all of people on the roll are Methodists, except one - a Catholic. They all lived within a few blocks of each other in East Ballarat bounded by Humffray, Victoria and Eureka Streets.

The museum members placed a large map on a table and used red pins to pinpoint the home addresses of the names. They were all clustered in the area mentioned. So it is likely that the roll is from a former Methodist church in East Ballarat, unfortunately there were two Methodist churches so as to which one it was is yet unknown.
