An avenue of pepperina trees commemorates those who served in World War One.
The avenue was planted by the Council in August 1922. In August 1925, with Council permission, the Pittsworth Country Women`s Association planted a dozen red blossom gum trees in memory of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.
These trees died but were later replaced with the pepperina trees.
PITTSWORTH August 26. The Pittsworth Branch of the Country Women`s Association held its first anniversary on Saturday last, when the occasion was celebrated by a tree planting in the Recreation Reserve. A number of red blossom gum ornamental trees were planted in memory of those who had fallen in the Great War.
