The park commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It contains a range of militaria including a field gun, and a stone obelisk.  A plaque in the park recognises the contribution of Mr. J. J. Cooper towards the construction of the Walgett RSL Memorial Park.
