The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It contains an honour roll of those from the district who served in World War One, World War Two and the Korean War. Below the roll is a dedication plaque which was part of the Australia Remembers Programme commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two. On the four corner extremities of the memorial at ground level, there are small plaques dedicated to and recognising the conflicts in which Australians have fought.
