The Commemorative Corner commemorates those from the Murgon District who served in the Australian Army, Navy and Air Force as National Servicemen in conflicts and peackeeping duties since World War Two.

This monument honours those from Murgon District and Australia who served in the Australian Navy, Army and Air Force as National Servicemen between 1951 and 1972.  Over 300,000 served Australia ; 212 were killed in action in Vietnam, Malaya and Borneo, 1479 men were wounded in action.

Murgon`s Commemorative Corner was officially opened by Honourable Warren Truss MP, Federal Member for Wide Bay and dedicated by Pastor Des Limkin Baptist Church, Murgon on Saturday 8th November 2003

Erected by the Murgon RSL Sub-branch and the Murgon Shire Council
