The gates commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
A representative of the Longreach Sub-Branch of the R.S.S.A.I.L.A. and a party of members will visit Ilfracombe on ANZAC Day to participate in the unveiling of the Memorial Gates erected at the entrance to the Park at lfracombe. The Ilfracombe Memorial Committee extended an invitation to the Longreach Sub-Branch to attend the unveiling in conjunction with the Anzac Day service. The Gates Were erected by the Memorial Committee and the Ilfracombe Shire Council.
