The monument is a white cross commemorating those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Placed near the RSL Memorial Hall and the original monument, it is the result of a combined effort from the Baralaba Progress Association and the Baralaba History Group.  Research into the names on the monument was undertaken by the History Group’s Wendy Hoadley who also designed the monument, assisted by Gwen Petersen.  Funding from the Queensland Veterans Memorial Grants was obtained by Jenny Bidgood and Polly Bromley of the Progress Association.

The monument was unveiled and commemorated on ANZAC Day, 2021, which was attended by about 160 people.
