Tenterden War MemorialPrint Page
The two monuments commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World Wars One and Two. A plaque was added at a later date in memory of those who served in the conflicts in South-East Asia from 1950 to 1971.
The memorial was originally erected to commemorate those from the district who paid the supreme sacrifice in World War One. On the 20th January 1922, a social and dance in aid of the fallen soldiers was held in the Tenterden Hall. On the 14th December 1947, a dedication ceremony was held and a memorial unveiled to commemorate the fallen from World War Two.
