The War Memorial commemorates those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World Wars One and Two. It was originally unveiled to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in World War One.
Two pillars on either side of the monument which have open marble books at the top contain the names of those who died in service or were killed in World War Two.
August 22nd.-The ceremony of unveiling the monument erected in memory of the soldiers of this district who fell in the Great War, took place on Sunday afternoon, in the presence of one of largest gatherings that have assembled at Yongala. The monument which is of Angaston marble, has been erected in the centre of the plantation in the main street.
