The Cross of Sacrifice commemorates Waikerie District ex-servicemen and women who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Following application from the Returned Soldiers Association the Waikerie District Council has decided to reserve the portion of the cemetery covering graves Nos. 78 to 84 for the erection of a central monument, and the sub-branch has been granted permission to erect the monument on a site to be agreed upon.
