The War Memorial commemorates those from the district who served in World War One and World War Two. It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One.  An additional stone monument, erected at the front of the memorial at a later date, commemorates those who served in World War Two.

Funding was received in 2015 to restore and upgrade the memorial.

Despite the boisterous weather there was a good attendance at the site of the Tickera Soldiers' Memorial on Wednesday afternoon, September 21, when the ceremony of unveiling took place. The Memorial stands on a triple slate pediment, and consists of an obelisk of red granite, surmounted by a figure of an Anzac soldier.

Mr John Willis, chairman of the Tickera Memorial Committee, heartily welcomed the gathering. He regretted it was not a more favorable day, but was pleased so many had been able to come. They were assembled to perform the last public act in connection with the Great War to do honor to the men who had enlisted, and to those who had made the supreme sacrifice. Of the 28 men who had enlisted, seven had given their lives; and if blood were the price of liberty, then they had paid in full. He would ask Mr J. F. Herbert (town clerk, Wallaroo) to unveil the memorial.
