Pinery Soldiers Memorial Recreation Ground Print Page
The recreation ground commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. Arch gates have been erected at the entrance to the grounds.
Following a public meeting some time ago when a war memorial was decided upon a piece of land belonging to the estate of the late P. H. Laffer has been obtained and will become public property as soon as consent to the transfer is received from the Federal Treasurer. The memorial which will be known as the 'Pinery Soldiers' Memorial Recreation Ground' is conveniently situated near the hall and tennis courts. As the land is still in its natural state some effort will be required to clear and prepare it for the necessary improvements. The land on which the tennis courts are situated is also to become public property.
