The hall commemorates those from the district who served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The foundation stone of the original Memorial Hall was laid on the 15th August 1924 in memory of those from the district who lost their lives in World War One. The hall was opened in 1925. The new hall and library was opened on the 8th March 1968. On the wall of the hall are plaques listing the names of those who served in World War One.
