The monument commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One and World War Two.

The monument, which is a 'digger' statue, contains the names of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One and Two as well as listing the names of those who served in World War One.

The monument was originally in the middle of the same intersection and relocated into the park, after the soldier statue was replaced after it fell off due to a car hitting the base.
