The War Memorial commemorates ex-pupils who served in World Wars One and Two. The memorial was originally unveiled in memory of those who served in World War One.
An obelisk erected to perpetuate the memory of old scholars of the Castlemaine State School who enlisted in the war, was unveiled by the Premier (Mr. Lawson), on Thursday in the presence of the scholars of the school and a large and representative gathering of citizens.
