Soldiers` MemorialPrint Page
The monument is a sandstone tapered obelisk on which rests an elevated marble alcove, supported by four columns and was originally erected to commemorate those from the district who served in World War One. The names of those who died in service or were killed in action are listed on marble rolls in the alcove.
A plaque was added at a later date to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. A marble plaque was added in 2015 to commemorate the ANZAC Centenary.
