Tullymorgan Memorial Print Page
The monument commemorates those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It is situated in the grounds of the old Tullymorgan Public School which closed in 1971. It consists of five old street lamp posts from the nearby township of Maclean. One each for the Boer War, World Wars One and Two, Korea and Vietnam. The posts were rescued from the bed of the Clarence River where they had lain for many years. These memorial lamps originally held perpetual flames, but unfortunately these no longer burn. There is also a sculpture of a lighthorseman on a concrete pillar. At the base of the pillar is a garden in the shape of Australia.
Funds were received in 2013 for the restoration of the memorial.
