On this site was built a wooden Bachelors` Barracks to house Returned Servicemen while they trained in Poultry Farming as part of the Returned Soldier Settlement Scheme. Returned Soldier Settlements were a principal part of the Nation`s Reconstruction Program for Veterans who gave their all for King and Country. Their training here, at Seven Hills, and subsequent career in poultry farming helped establish the County of Cumberland as a dominant centre for Poultry farming in New South Wales in post war years.
