The War Memorial commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. It lists those from South Grafton and the surrounding areas of Sherwood Creek, Chambigne, Blaxland's Creek, O.B.X. Creek and Coutts Crossing. Behind the original memorial is a wall, commemorating all those who served, which has been extended and contains plaques pertaining to the conflicts in which Australia has participated, as well as The Ode and a plaque for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who served.
