Finley War MemorialPrint Page
The War Memorial commemorates those from the district who served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It originally commemorated those who served in World War One. Additional plaques were added to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two and the Vietnam War.
On Thursday, Empire Day, a large crowd attended (despite the fact that the weather was far from pleasant) to witness the unveiling of the handsome obelisk, erected as a memorial to the fallen soldiers of the district by Col. McKenzie M.C. At night a banquet, was held in the School of Arts.
