The pool commemorates those who served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
Bourke's showpiece, the modern War Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool, will be officially opened by our local Member of the Legislative Assembly, the Hon. J. B. Renshaw, Deputy Premier and Treasurer at approximately 8 p.m. tomorrow night, Saturday, 10th December. The Opening Carnival, which is being organised by the Bourke Amateur Swimming Club, has attracted nominations from Wellington, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Narromine and Nyngan as well as local entrants.
