The monument which consists of a building with a clock tower, commemorates those from the District who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.  It was originally erected to commemorate those from the District who served in World War One.

The Boorowa War Memorial is in the form of a meeting room with a clock tower which was erected in memory of those who served in World War One. The names of the men who enlisted for active service from the district are recorded on a bronze tablet which was unveiled on ANZAC Day 1933. The building was erected from plans by,and under the supervision of, R. Richardson an architect of Sydney who was the winner in the competition of designs held under the auspices of the Institute of Architects NSW. T.Barlow of Boorowa was the builder and the clock was supplied by Prouds Ltd., of Sydney. The Sydney Morning Herald, 30th May 1933.
