The plaque commemorates those who were called up for compulsory National Service between 1951 and 1972 and remembers those who lost their lives. 

Funding was received in 2015 for the installation of the plaque.

Lest We Forget

Between 1951 and 1972 287,000 young Australians were called up for compulsory National Service training in the Navy,  Army, Air Force

Of these 212 died on active service in Borneo and Vietnam not forgetting the 117 National Servicemen killed whilst training in  NSW. 

National Service was part of Australia`s defence preparedness for three decades
