The War Memorial commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.  It was erected as a project to commemorate the centenary of the ANZAC Landing at Gallipoli on the 25th April 1915.

The memorial lists the names of those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One and World War Two. The memorial seeks to recognise Australia’s involvement in wars and conflicts since Federation.

At either side of the monument are iron walls with cut out figures. The left wall lists the conflicts in which Australia has been involved while the right wall contains the Ode of Remembrance.  A bell and interpretative sign was installed at the memorial as part of the Armistice Centenary.

The Ode of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them
