The plaque commemorates those who served in the 51st Infantry Battalion (Far North Queensland Regiment) in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The plaque is located on a wall adjacent to the cenotaph.
In March 2015 a special service was held at the cenotaph to mark the unveiling of a plaque dedicated to those who served in the 51st Battalion, Far North Queensland Regiment. During the Second World War troops from the amalgamated 31st and 51st Battalions were stationed in Edmonton.
