The wooden honour roll commemorates members of the City Tabernacle Baptist congregation who served in World War One and World War Two.

The City Tabernacle began recording the names of their members year by year as they enlisted for active service during World War One.  The original honour roll for World War One veterans was set up in 1917, and additional names were added up to 1919.

After World War Two, this honour roll containing the names of all World War One and Two veterans was made and erected in the church vestibule.   It was unveiled on Sunday 7 September 1947 before the moming service.
