The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
At either side of the monument are marble tablets which appear to be those from the War Memorial Hospital entrance pillars listing the names of those from the district who died in World War One.
Service personel plaques are located adjacent to the monument
