Cenotaph committee members decided not to have details of those who died in service or were killed in action from Tamborine Mountain etched onto the cenotaph, as names could not be added in the future.
The cenotaph came about as a result of long-term combined effort from the Scenic Rim Regional Council, Tamborine Village Lions Club and the Memorial Hall Committee.

Officially unveiled and dedicated by His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jeresy AC, Governor of Queensland on 24 February 2018.
