The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The hall was originally erected in 1907 and was extended in 1953 and opened as a Memorial Hall.
What was once a court house will be opened tomorrow night as the Avoca Memorial Hall. The ceremony will be performed by the Acting Premier (Mr. Fagan). The dancing section of the hall has been ncreased by 20ft., and extra seating accommodation provided. The new supper room will enable 60 persons to be served at one sitting. The new kitchen is fitted witlh urns and a sink heater.
