The monument commemorates those from the Wardell District who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. 

The original monument was struck by a large truck during an accident and destroyed in 2015.  The War Memorial Hall committee have sourced a large rock kindly donated by a local quarry as a replacement.
