Murrurundi Memorial GardenPrint Page
The rose garden commemorates those of the Murrurundi District who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. A grant was received in June 2011 to upgrade the Memorial Garden and it was officially opened in 2012.
The garden consists of separate rose beds, concrete walkways, and various plinths with plaques.
The plaques commemorate those who served in the Boer War, the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Other plaques include service emblems and those for the Women's Services: Women's Royal Australian Naval Service (W.R.A.N.S.), Australian Women's Army Service (A.W.A.S.), Women's Auxiliary Air Force (W.A.A.F.), Australian Women's Land Army (A.W.L.A.), and Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps.
