Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Searching the Website
Searching the website
There are over 28000 monuments recorded by different themes, and in different states and towns. You can search for monuments in the following ways : -
Search function
- Using the “Search” button at the top of this screen will allow you to search for the monument you are looking for by entering specific information, such as the State, the town, the monument theme and sub-themes.
- The results of your search are displayed within the Search page where you can then select a specific monument to read all the information we have about it, and view any images of it.
Map function
- Using the “Map” button at the top of this screen will display a map of Australia showing all the monuments we have recorded as a symbol on the map.
- On the map, you can search for a specific town or navigate around the map to see what monuments are recorded for other locations. Due to the number of monuments and images, your first use of the Map may take some seconds to display
