Commemorates the returned soldiers and their families who settled on Gala Estate after World War Two. 

Soldier settlement refers to the occupation and settlement of land throughout parts of Australia by returning discharged soldiers under schemes administered by the State Governments after World Wars One and Two.

"Gala Estate" Parish of Gala  County of Hampden

This memorial commemorates the World War 2 soldier settlement the "Gala Estate".
The land was originally part of "Gala"owned by the Currie family.  It was divied into 5 farms for returned servicemen of WW2.
The families determination, hard work and fellowship developed these farms and contributed to the prosperity of the District and our nation.
