This plaque commemorates the memory of those who gave their lives for the country when the unit fought the Malayan campaign from 8th December 1941 to 16th February 1942.

The Malayan forces capitulated on 16th February 1942 and the members of the unit became prisoners of war.  During captivity, the unit served in Singapore, Malaya, Borneo, Burma, Thailand and Japan.
