The War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One.  An additional plaque was added at a later date to commemorate those who have lost their lives in other conflicts. The memorial was restored in 2006. 

Monument characteristics :

Grey granite monument approximately 4.5 metres high consisting of a square base surmounted by an ornate domed roof resting on four pillars.
