The monument was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One, but has had an additional plque added to it to commemorate other conflicts.

Monument characteristics :

Grey granite monument approximately 4.5 metres high consisting of a square base surmounted by an ornate domed roof resting on four pillars.
