The Wallsend Soldiers` Memorial is a sandstone tapered obelisk on which rests an elevated marble alcove, supported by four columns and was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One. The names of the fallen are listed on marble rolls in the alcove.

A plaque was placed on the memorial at a later date to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two, Korea and Vietnam.
