Wickham LocomotivePrint Page
02-September-2016
Photographs supplied by Erich Nussbaumer
The locomotive commemorates the iron ore haulage on the Robe railroad system.
The locomotive was purchased by Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates in the 1970s and reconditioned and used in the construction of the Robe railway between Pannawonica and Cape Lambert and continuous yard duties until its retirement in 1980. The Roebourne Lions Club asked for permission to display the locomotive in Wickham as a tribute to the iron ore haulage on the Robe Railway system. An information plaque is located nearby.
